Friday…………..

Mmmm its Friday, a day that marks the end of a weeks worth of drawing, researching, doodling, designing.  These past months have been hectic, 7 day weeks and loads of deadlines to meet, this weekend is going to be all mine, time to spend time in my art studio and create for me !!

One of the most enjoyble parts of designing interiors is choosing the pieces to give spaces that certain something.  Whether it be a pair of huge 6′ urns, a bronze sculpture ( stags recently!) or prized objects created by artisans and destined for huge acrylic display cases.  Tin robots in a variety of colours and shapes and sizes is another appealng theme that has caught my eye recently too.  Displaying mono coloured themes also, all shapes, sizes and themes all bought together by colour is another way to make a statement.

Have a good weekend everyone

green

Roof terraces have been on our mind recently, a large expanse with an amazing view across green rolling hills.  Amazing diversity of what one can do,  whilst researching came across some really interesting use of space, both  horizontally and vertically……..

Take a look at these Stateside architects who have been doing great things in New York http://www.goodegreennyc.com/

These images are truly inspiring to me, the sumptous embroidery on the sleeves, an image I can draw upon when designing bespoke fabrics

Love the pleated affect of the fabric here, so architectural,  structural, feels like I could do some wonderfully large paper sculptures using these forms in paper
